Aerys and Joanna

Description

The request was for "Aerys Targaryen trying to put the moves on Joanna (Lannister) and failing."

So my first instinct was to draw Joanna giving Aerys a good punch on the jaw. Because that's what I'd do if a bloke kept pestering me sexually after I'd politely (and not so politely) declined his advances, and Joanna was no wilting maid.

But then I remembered that this is a medieval style monachy here, and punching kings is not an option. Not if you want to keep your own head on your shoulders, or your husband's head, or your entire family's heads.

Which has turned this into a rather darker and somewhat unpleasant picture. Proof that even when attempting to draw "beautiful" people, my innate need to make everything ultimately creepy wins out. (This is possibly why I like drawing asoiaf so much - it suits my style!)

Joanna will have to find subtle ways to rebuff Aerys, but ultimately, if a King wants something, particularly a Targaryen King, well...

I always thought the crazy theories about Tyrion were utterly ridiculous, but now... I'm not so sure. :(

Although I'd say the odds are at best 12% in favour, I do believe Tyrion is Aerys' bastard because of the many POSSIBLE hints dropped:

-Aerys lusted after Joanna since adolescence, was jealous of Tywin since naming him Hand, and always tried to embarrass his old pal.

-In 272 AC, Joanna visited King's Landing with her twins, and a drunk Aerys made a remark about her breasts in public, humiliating her. MAYBE that night he went a step further and raped her, both out of lust for her and to spite Tywin. Who knows, perhaps that was the true reason Tywin wanted to resign the next day, and was persuaded not to do anything more by Joanna's begging (since the king could have destroyed house Lannister)?

-Tyrion's appearance is a bit suspicious, notably his white blonde mane with streaks of black (other people with mixed hair include Elaena and Valarr Targaryen) and his heterochromia iridum (trait shared with Alyssa Targaryen and Shiera Seastar).

-If Tyrion was indeed his son, Aerys clearly didn't give a damn for him. However, this secret knowledge may have been another motive for naming Jaime to his Kingsguard. What better way to insult the Great Lion of the Rock than having his own bastard dwarf son as his successor?

-Mainly, as far as Tywin is concerned, this tinfoil theory would give some background for his nevertheless unjust and maniacal hatred of his baby boy. Wouldn't you feel terrible if your likeliest heir and the child who resembles you the most is actually the biological spawn of your most hated enemy?

To wrap up my crazy rambling, in the unlikely case some of us fans are right about Aerys siring Tyrion, I DEFINITELY consider that the latter's real and only father was indeed Tywin (as horrible as he was to him). Tyrion is a Lannister, and is a kinslayer!!

PS 1: As far as your theory about Jaime and Cersei being the Mad King's children, I would call it more far-fetched than Tyrion's (e.g. they couldn't have been conceived during Joanna's bedding, since that happened in 263 AC, and they were born in 266 AC; and both twins have all the physical characteristics of Lannisters).

PS 2: Probably the biggest reason I believe in "A+J=T" is that I SOOOO want our dear Halfman to be the 3rd head of the dragon (with Daenerys and Jon).
